break personal records for their own distances. Rudy drove all the way from
Jessup, GA to join us too !
We had 9 show up to start this ride and later
2 more joined, total 11 participated. Cool fall day
and on the way back the nor'easter was blowing. We stopped by Everybody's
Restaurant in Baldwin for lunch. It is a 1 mile detour, but well worth it. We
had a father son -- Nathan and Billy, and a mother and daugher -- Dana and Blake
and 2 husband wife -- (Tim and Debbie) and (Bill and Carol). What good family fun together! Mark did the
trail one -way -- 15.5 miles personal record for him. Monica broke her own
record by completing the whole trail --31.5 miles total ! We are sure Billy
broke the record for an 11 year old -- He did 35miles !

- 3rd Annual Florida Trikke Fun Ride
Inverness , Florida
(map)
This years
Florida Trikke Fun Ride will be held in conjunction with the
14th Annual Rails to Trails of the Withlacoochie Bike Ride.
Last year there were over 1600 registered cyclists and over
40 Trikke enthusiast in the event. The event organizers are
expecting this year to far exceed those numbers. The ride is
a "no-mass start" meaning that you can start anytime between
7am and 9am. There's no minimum distance required to ride
but they are registering cyclist for a 100 mile ride with
special recognition for their accomplishment. For our Trikke
riders we are planning on a 15 mile ride but no minimum
distance is required. We were fortunate to have
Gildo Beleski (Sr. Engineer/Trikke Inventor) and
Claudio Pagan (Trikke Representative) to join us. It looks
very good that they will again be joining us this year.
However, it's not 100% sure due to Gildo's schedule. At last
years event Gildo did state that our Trikke Fun Ride was
probably the best Trikke event that he's ever attended and
was honored by the camaraderie involving such avid Trikke
enthusiasts. Just like last year we will plan a
social/dinner at one of the local resteraunts where we can
all acquaint and re-acquaint. This will also give you an
opportunity to initially meet Gildo and Claudio.
Last year a 10 year old (Dustin Edwards -Tampa Trikker)
rode 40 miles on a T78-Air. And he made his parents ride
with him. It was their first time to complete such a long
distance on the Trikke. We also had Al Brown (83 years
young) who rode an astonishing 30 miles. Hats off to these
two remarkable young men! What an accomplishment and
inspiration!
Last year we had 5 First Coast Trikkers
participate. It is about a 3 hour drive to Inverness ,
Florida (map)
Start making your plans now The little motels fill up fast.
This is a Trikke Tampa event and Andy
and Jana have always participated in our events here in
Jacksonville -- The Trikke Century Ride and the Opening of
the Beaches. I hope we can show them even more support this
year !

Steve from Orlando Trikkers always does a great job in
capturing our trikke events and posting them on Utube. He has always done the
Opening of the Beaches too. Here is 2007 Florida Trikke Fun Ride
Well we had 29 Trikkers for this great ride. 6 were First
Coast Trikkers. Thanks to Andy -- Trikke Tampa and his
wonderful wife Jana for all the work in setting up the display. We certainly
showed people trikkes ! Many people did test rides --- even these hard core
bikers. It was a a great time and one we hope to make an annual event. Some
broke their personal records -- doing 50 - 60 miles. I think I even broke my own
record!! I only rode about 6 miles. Most of my time was doing demos for
people and helping people try out the fitness machine !
